A routine lunch break turned tragic for a young bank employee in Karnataka when she was fatally hit by a speeding motorcycle.
A routine lunch break turned fatal in Karnataka when a 26-year-old bank employee was run over by a speeding motorcycle, with CCTV footage now revealing the sequence of events leading to the fatal collision.
The accident occurred at around 12:45 pm on Tuesday in front of an HDFC Home Loan office in the state. The victim, identified as Yogeshwari, worked with HDFC Bank and had stepped out during her lunch break when the bike rammed into her.
CCTV visuals from the area show the motorcycle approaching at high speed before the impact. In the footage, Yogeshwari can be seen crossing the road when she notices the speeding bike and begins to run in an attempt to avoid being hit. Within seconds, the motorcycle crashes into her.
The collision caused chaos on the stretch, with office staff and bystanders rushing out to help her. Traffic movement was briefly disrupted following the crash.
Yogeshwari was taken to a private hospital for treatment. Despite medical efforts, she succumbed to her injuries at around 11:30 pm the same night.
Police have registered an FIR against the bike rider. The role of speeding and possible negligence is being examined as part of the investigation.
