Pakistan all-rounder Shadab Khan took responsibility for his team's defeat to hosts Sri Lanka in the final of the Asia Cup on Sunday, September 11 in Dubai.
The showdown in the continental tournament, which Sri Lanka won by 23 runs, turned into a nightmare for one of the best fielders of Pakistan. In spite of a brilliant start in the powerplay, the Babar Azam-led side could not hold on to the pressure as Sri Lanka fought back.
Shadab, who was hit on the head during Pakistan's fielding innings, dropped two crucial catches, with one of it eventually going for a six in the death overs. In a tweet, he said: "Catches win matches. Sorry, I take responsibility for this loss. I let my team down."

The Pakistan all-rounder heaped praise on the likes of Naseem Shah, Haris Rauf and Mohammad Nawaz for his brilliance in the Asia Cup. Shadab also highlighted the highest run-getter of the tournament, Mohammad Rizwan's valiant effort.
