India celebrated its historic T20 World Cup victory as Bollywood and South film stars joined fans in congratulating the team online. Under Suryakumar Yadav's captaincy, India became the first side to defend the title and win the tournament on home soil.
India’s historic T20 World Cup triumph sent the country into celebration mode, and the film industry was no exception. Stars from both Bollywood and the South film industry joined millions of fans in applauding the team’s remarkable achievement. From Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan to Sidharth Malhotra, Ranveer Singh, Katrina Kaif and Jr NTR, several celebrities flooded social media with congratulatory messages after Team India defeated New Zealand in the final.
Shah Rukh Khan praised the team’s performance, writing, “What a comprehensive victory!! Well done to our men in blue!!! You guys are champions and watching you on the field has made us all very proud. Take a bow. Jai Hind (sic)!”
Amitabh Bachchan shared a humorous post in Hindi that translated to: “I told you if I don’t watch, they’ll win! And it happened (sic)!”
Actor Jr NTR also congratulated the team, writing, “This is how our Men in Blue showed up – with calm, composure and dominance throughout the tournament – and brought the trophy home again to create history. Congratulations Team India. The nation will sleep well tonight (sic).”
Others celebrating the win were Sanjay Dutt, music composer Anirudh Ravichander and Ayushmann Khurrana, who shared their excitement with followers online.
