After a mentally ill man was allegedly thrashed to death in MP's Neemuch, the locals from his village have demanded that the home of the perpetrator be bulldozed.
A 65-year-old mentally unwell man was allegedly thrashed to death in the Manasa area of Neemuch district in Madhya Pradesh. A video of the same went viral on social media on Friday.
Now, the locals from his village are demanding that the house of the perpetrator be bulldozed.
In a video that went viral on social media, a man can be seen thrashing the victim, Bhanwarlal Jain, on suspicion of belonging to a particular religion. In the video, the accused was also seen demanding Aadhaar card from the victim.
A man in a red shirt can be seen slapping the old man continuously and asking, "Is your name Mohammad? Show me your Aadhaar card."
Bhanwarlal Jain went with his mother Pistabai, the sarpanch of the village, and other family members to Chittorgarh in Rajasthan for prayers on May 15.
Bhanwarlal Jain, who was differently-abled and had trouble with memory, went missing from Rajasthan. His family lodged a missing complaint at the police station there.
Later, they received information that a body had been found in Manasa in Neemuch district of MP. They reached there and identified the body. On Friday, they performed the last rites.
