Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann was extolled on Twitter by his party chief, Arvind Kejriwal, shortly after he sacked a minister over corruption charges. Bhagwant Mann’s action “brought tears to my eyes”, Kejriwal tweeted.
“Proud of you, Bhagwant. Ur action has brought tears to my eyes. Whole nation today feels proud of AAP,” the Delhi chief minister wrote.

“I'm taking strict action against that minister, sacking him from the cabinet and directing the police to register a case against him. That minister is Vijay Singla. He had indulged in corruption in his department and also confessed to it. AAP has a zero-tolerance policy against corruption," Mann said in a nearly six-minute-long video that he posted on Twitter.

“The Aam Aadmi Party was born to establish an honest system. Arvind Kejriwal has always said that we will not tolerate corruption even when it is one of our own. As soon as I got evidence of corruption against the health minister, I sacked him and ordered the registration of an FIR,” Mann had tweeted, announcing the sacking of his minister.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.

According to the police, 19-year-old Sachin Dharmendrabhai Chaudhary, who works as a labourer, had borrowed the money before expressing his inability to repay it immediately, police said. He was allegedly threatened with his life over the delay in repayment. Fearing for his life, Sachin immediately alerted the police.
