The singer, who was issued a warning about her conduct, called out a “weird” flight attendant.
Britney Spears’ recent flight turned into quite the circus after the musician apparently made a toxic faux pas. Now, she’s addressing the drama surrounding it all.
The pop star initially made headlines last week after lighting a cigarette on a flight from Cabo San Lucas to Los Angeles on May 22. Smoking on airplanes is illegal under U.S. federal aviation rules.
The alarmed flight crew contacted authorities, who met Spears when the plane landed, according to multiple outlets. The musician was issued a warning about smoking on the flight before she was allowed to leave.
In an Instagram post the next day, Spears, who admitted she had been drinking on the flight as well, recounted the incident. She called it “incredibly funny” while sharing details about the ordeal from her perspective.
“Some planes I’ve been on you can’t smoke mostly but this one was different because the drink holders were on outside of seat !!!” she wrote. “Confession it was my first time drinking VODKA!!! I swear I felt so SMART!!! I was like wow what the heck is in there !!! I felt so clear and smart !!! And said I want a cigarette so bad !!!”
