Boss asks Gen Z employee to come to office for online meeting, reply goes viral
India Today
A Gen Z employee refused to appear at the office at 6:30 am for a virtual meeting despite their boss's strict warning, and their response to the boss's threat went viral on social media.
A boss asked a Gen Z employee to report to the office at 6:30 am for a virtual meeting, and the employee’s sharp, no-nonsense reply went viral on social media.
The exchange between the two was shared on X by user Lexis with the caption, “Gen Z employees. Not the heroes we deserved, but the heroes we needed.”
The post shows a screenshot of what appears to be a stern workplace message sent by a boss laying down strict instructions ahead of a 7:00 am virtual meeting.
The boss's message read: “This is the final reminder. Failure to be physically seated in the office by 6:30 AM for the 7:00 AM virtual meeting is being noted as insubordination. Please be advised that continued non-compliance may result in disciplinary action, including suspension, as per company policy. Confirm immediately when you are seated.”
The reply that the boss received shortly after that message, was something users felt captured Gen Z’s growing pushback against what they see as outdated corporate control.
The employee responded calmly but firmly: “Noted. For clarity, I won’t be physically appearing for a virtual meeting. I will be attending virtually, as the meeting format suggests. Threatening suspension over location rather than attendance feels less like policy and more like PowerPoint abuse. I’m online.”

Speaking at the White House, Trump said the United States was in contact with "the right people" in Iran and suggested that Tehran was eager to reach an agreement to halt hostilities. "We're in negotiations right now," he told reporters, without offering further details on the scope or format of the talks.
