
Border clash: Assam, Mizoram CMs order withdrawal of cases as states prepare for talks on August 5

After Mizoram, the chief minister of Assam has also directed the police to withdraw cases filed in connection to the July 26 clash along the Assam-Mizoram border.
Mizoram Chief Minister Zoramthanga has directed the state's police to withdraw the FIR against all the accused in the July 26 clash along the Assam-Mizoram border. Assam chief minister, too, followed the suit and asked police to withdraw cases filed against DC Kolasib and SDPO Virengte. A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.
