Bombay HC refuses relief for Elgar Parishad activists, calls plea against jail transfer 'paradoxical'

Refusing to grant any interim relief, the Bombay High Court called the Elgar Parishad activists' petitions against a Special NIA Court's jail transfer order "little paradoxical".
The Bombay High Court gave no interim relief to arrested Elgar Parishad activists on Friday, while hearing their plea challenging a Special NIA Court order directing their transfer from the Taloja Central Prison to the Mumbai Central Prison. The High Court called the petitions "little paradoxical". In their pleas, the activists alleged that the Special Court had not given them the time to respond. One of the accused, Mahesh Raut, filed a petition against the Special Court order in the Bombay High Court. Immediate family members of the other accused -- Anand Teltumbde, Surendra Gadling and Sudhir Dhawale -- also filed a similar petition.More Related News
