Bombay High Court ordered officials to look into the details of BJP MP Sujay Vikhe Patil’s chartered aircraft that allegedly carried 10,000 vials of anti-viral drug Remdesivir from Delhi secretly.
While hearing a petition alleging ‘illegal’ and ‘secret’ procurement and distribution of about 10,000 vials of anti-viral drug Remdesivir from pharmaceutical companies by BJP Member of Parliament from Ahmednagar Sujay Vikhe Patil, Bombay High Court directed the principal secretary of Maharashtra’s Home Department to look into the relevant details. The bench of Justice R V Ghuge and Justice B U Debadwar asked the principal secretary to ensure the details of chartered aircraft that landed between April 10 and 25 are preserved and to check the video recordings of the consignments. The court said, “Since the MP claims he landed at the Shirdi airport with the vials, we will not accept any excuse for not having preserved the details of the aircraft and video footage of the cargo." There are videos of Patil himself saying that he procured the vials from Delhi.
