A couple who eloped from their houses around 15 days ago were found dead on Tuesday. Their bodies were found hanging from a tree in Uttar Pradesh's Saharanpur.

A couple who eloped from their houses around 15 days ago was found hanging from a tree in Uttar Pradesh's Saharanpur. On Tuesday night, the Biharigarh police received a call regarding two bodies hanging from a tree in the Mohand forest.

After receiving the information, the police rushed to the spot, took custody of the bodies and sent them for a post-mortem.

During the investigation, the police got to know that a minor girl from a village near Bohadpur, had eloped with her boyfriend, who used to live in a different village, around 15 days ago.

The family of the girl had also registered a case against the boy at Nagpal Police station on September 4.

SSP Dinesh Tada revealed that both were absconding from the house and the family members of the girl had filed a case against the boy.

He suspected it to be a suicide but the police are currently investigating all the possible angles.
