Bobby Deol opens up about doing romantic films, says he is waiting for the right scripts | Exclusive

In an exclusive chat with Indiatoday.in, Bobby Deol spoke about doing different roles. He told us that he wants to do a romantic role next.

Bobby Deol will be seen entertaining fans with Ranbir Kapoor Animal. In a recent interview with IndiaToday.in, actor Bobby Deol said that he now wishes to do roles in romantic films. Further, talking about his criteria for picking a movie, Bobby said that he wont be doing standard roles any more.

Bobby Deol's Animal is a gangster drama and helmed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga. Speaking exclusively with IndiaToday.in, the Ashram actor opened up about seeking different roles and his wish of doing a romantic film soon.

He said, "As an actor, you want to do all genres, maybe all these years I have been doing those standard characters where I am charming, good-looking, rich, and all that. At some point, you get fed up and I have reached an age in my life where I am trying to break into positions that other actors are doing. When you watch their work you enjoy it and you wonder why you aren't being asked to play those characters. So I am just trying hard so that people start taking me in those kinds of characters or roles. Playing those characters is fun, challenging, and outside your comfort zone."

Bobby continued, "Having said that, as an actor, I would like to do films which a Bobby Deol would do also. I will not go away from that because even that is creatively fulfilling. When you are working on something you kind of get bored of the same thing, you want variation with every kind of role. The audience will also see things that I have done in the past and, at the same time, something different. I will do a love story very soon, just waiting for the right scripts."

He further said, "There is always pressure because you always want to live up to the expectations of your fans. They will always love you, but you, as an actor, have to keep improving and do your best. I think for an actor it's always going to be like that. He has to portray the characters which is really not him and so it is challenging. But when you are on sets you forget all that because if you keep thinking that you have to do better than the last time, you will be making mistakes."
