BMC issues second notice to Narayan Rane for ‘unauthorised works’ on Juhu bungalow

The BMC has issued a second notice to the Union Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) for the alleged illegal construction in his Mumbai bungalow and has given him 15 days notice to tear down the same.
The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) issued a second notice to the former Chief Minister of Maharashtra and Union minister of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Narayan Rane, for the alleged illegal construction and alterations in his eight-storey bungalow in Juhu.
The notice states that illegal rooms have been constructed from the first to the eighth floor instead of terrace gardens, which is in contravention to the plan approved by the civic body.
The BMC has directed Rane to remove the illegal construction within 15 days from the issuance of the notice, failing which, the civic body will demolish the unauthorized change of use works mentioned in the notice.
On February 21, the BMC had conducted an inspection at the Adhish Bungalow in Juhu, Mumbai for the alleged violation of the Coastal Regulatory Zone (CRZ) norms. Following this, the Mumbai civic body had issued the first notice to the union minister on March 4.
The notice had asked the bungalow owner to show sufficient reasons within seven days and prove that the work mentioned in the notice had been carried out per the approvals received by BMC.
Narayan Rane, a former Shiv Sena leader, is a bitter critic of his former party and its head, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray.
