The Mumbai Police has filed a chargesheet in connection with the murder of 19-year-old Jhanvi Kukreja. The chargesheet stated that the blood on one accused's T-shirt matched with that of Jhanvi Kukreja.
The Mumbai Police on Tuesday filed a chargesheet in connection with the murder of 19-year-old Jhanvi Kukreja. Kukreja was killed during a New Year eve's party in Khar area of Mumbai. Police filed the chargesheet against the two accused -- Shree Jogdhankar and Diya Padalkar -- and said that Jhanvi had received 48 injuries, including a skull fracture. Police have added statements of 74 witnesses, including statements of Jhanvi's friends, who were present at the party. Jhanvi was murdered in a building in Khar on December 31, 2020.
As per the Bill, those involved in unlawful conversions on the pretext of marriage will be punished with imprisonment of seven years and shall also be liable for a fine of Rs 1 lakh. Violations in respect of a minor, a person of unsound mind, a woman or a person belonging to the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe will be punished with imprisonment of seven years and a fine of Rs 5 lakh.
