
BJP to blame for quality of education at MCD-run schools: Delhi Deputy CM

Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia on Sunday criticised schools run by the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) over their pupil-teacher ratio (PTR).
Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia on Sunday criticised a report released by the Centre on the performance of schools, including those that fall under the Delhi government. As per the report, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which has taken hold of Delhi's municipal corporations in the last 20 years, ran MCD schools into the ground, said Manish Sisodia. He added that the quality of education in MCD-run schools has deteriorated so much that they tarnish the image of the entire national capital region (NCR).
A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.

According to the police, 19-year-old Sachin Dharmendrabhai Chaudhary, who works as a labourer, had borrowed the money before expressing his inability to repay it immediately, police said. He was allegedly threatened with his life over the delay in repayment. Fearing for his life, Sachin immediately alerted the police.
