Rane has alleged that Sachin Vaze is involved in IPL extortion. Mumbai Police's Sachin Vaze was arrested last week by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) for involvement in placing an explosive-laden SUV near Mukesh Ambani's residence Antilia last month. "IPL was started for youth but then betting started. Vaze had called these people who were betting just before the matches. These people would obviously be afraid. He used to tell them if you don't want to get arrested then give us Rs 1.5 crores. Either give it in full or I will raid you," Rane said.
