The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has demanded an apology from Aaditya Thackeray for the delay in completing drainage works in Mumbai.
BJP MLA Ashish Shelar on Thursday alleged that only 35 per cent of pending drainage works have been completed in Mumbai even as the city braces for an early monsoon season. He demanded an apology from Maharashtra minister Aaditya Thackeray for the delay.
"Despite being in power for 25 long years, if they [Shiv Sena] cannot guarantee security, Aaditya Thackeray must apologise to Mumbaikars," Shelar said.
On Thursday, BJP corporators led by MLA Ashish Shelar inspected nullah cleaning work at Valnai in Malad, SNDT in Juhu, and Milind Nagar in Kurla.
The drive was attended by BJP municipal corporation group leader Prabhakar Shinde, party leader Vinod Mishra, spokesperson Bhalchandra Shirsat, and BJP corporators from Shelar's constituency.
The BJP leaders said that the situation in all three locations was dire as silt was still piled up in the nullah. They then met with Mayor Iqbal Singh Chahal and presented him with a photographic report on Mumbai's nullahs.
