A prayer meet was held in memory of late singer Bhupinder Singh on July 21. Sonu Nigam, Madhur Bhandarkar, Poonam Dhillon, and others arrived to pay their last respects.
Veteran singer Bhupinder Singh passed away on July 18 due to suspected colon cancer and Covid-related complications. He had worked with the biggest names in the music industry, such as Mohammed Rafi, RD Burman, Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhosle and Bappi Lahiri, and others. His funeral took place at Oshiwara crematorium in Mumbai on July 19. A prayer meet in memory of the veteran singer took place on July 21 in Mumbai, where many known faces from the music industry arrived to pay their last respects.

An official statement can be read, “Our dearest, the legendary singer and musician Bhupendra Singh left for his heavenly abode on Monday, 18th July, 2022. Please join us to pay homage to him and pray for his soul.” Many from the music industry arrived at a gurudwara in Andheri, Mumbai to pay their last respects. Sonu Nigam, Madhur Bhandarkar, Poonam Dhillon, Rekha Bhardwaj, Jessey Lever, Varun Badola, Rajeshwari, Shashi Ranjan, Rakesh Bedi, and others arrived to pay their last respects.
Bhupinder Singh passed away in Mumbai on July 18 at 7.45 pm. His funeral took place at Oshiwara crematorium at 12.30am on July 19. The veteran singer’s passing was confirmed by his wife, Mitali Mukherjee. He was suffering from several health complications for the past six months. He was reportedly admitted to the hospital eight to ten days ago due to urine infection. The veteran singer had also tested positive for Covid-19. “He passed away at around 7.45 pm due to suspected colon cancer and had Covid-19,” Mitali Mukherjee, Bhupinder Singh's wife had informed.
Bhupinder Singh lent his voice to many hit tracks such as Dil Dhoondta Hai, Saiyan Bina Ghar Soona, Naam Gum Jaayega, Mere Rang De Basanti Chola, and others.
