
Bhima Koregaon case: NIA opposes Sudha Bharadwaj's default bail plea in Bombay HC

The NIA has opposed Bhima Koregaon accused Sudha Bharadwaj's bail plea in the Bombay High Court. The matter will be heard next on August 4.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has opposed the bail plea of Elgar Parishad accused Sudha Bharadwaj. A rights activist, Sudha Bharadwaj, has moved the Bombay High Court for default bail in the Bhima Koregaon case. In her submissions before the court, Sudha Bharadwaj stated that the judge who took confidence in the chargesheet against her was not a designated special judge. The same judge granted an extension of time to the NIA to file the chargesheet, said her default bail plea.
A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.

According to the police, 19-year-old Sachin Dharmendrabhai Chaudhary, who works as a labourer, had borrowed the money before expressing his inability to repay it immediately, police said. He was allegedly threatened with his life over the delay in repayment. Fearing for his life, Sachin immediately alerted the police.
