Bhim Army chief Chandra Shekhar Azad was stopped at Jodhpur airport on Wednesday by the Rajasthan Police. Chandra Shekhar Azad was on his way to Jalore, where a Dalit student died after being thrashed by a teacher for drinking water from a pot.

The Jodhpur Police stopped the Bhim Army chief at the airport and said he would not be allowed to go any further.

Protests erupted across Jalore after a Dalit student at Saraswati Vidyalaya in the Surana area of the district sustained grievous injuries after being beaten by a teacher. The nine-year-old Class-III student later succumbed to his injuries.
