A 1.2 km-long underpass on Benito Juarez Marg in Delhi was thrown open to the public on Saturday. Check all the details here.
Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi, Manish Sisodia, on Saturday inaugurated a 1.2 km-long underpass on Benito Juarez Marg. Built at the cost of Rs 143.8 crore, the Y-shaped modern underpass will benefit commuters travelling between Delhi and Gurugram, by reducing travel time between Central and South Delhi.
The underpass starts at the Durga Bai Deshmukh South Campus metro station and connects with the South Campus to AIIMS and Moti Bagh.
Manish Sisodia took to Twitter and wrote in Hindi which can be translated as, "With the launch of a 1.2 km modern Y-shaped underpass on the Benito Juarez route, lakhs of commuters between Gurgaon and Delhi will no longer have to deal with traffic jams on a daily basis. Adding to the economic value of saving time, this underpass will save Rs 18 crore for Delhiites every year. Many congratulations everyone! " (sic)

Sisodia claimed that this underpass would save Rs 18 crore for Delhiites in a year, adding that 2,100 vehicles (estimated) will use the underpass in one hour.
Along with the underpass, the skywalk will bring great relief to the commuters, especially students who use the metro for commuting.
The Benito Juarez Marg underpass is expected to provide relief from traffic congestion between Ring Road, Dhaula Kuan and Rao Tula Ram Marg.
