The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) will launch one-day and three-day passes which will allow passengers to take unlimited trips from April 2.

The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) will launch one-day and three-day passes for commuters in the form of smart cards starting from April 2.

This will allow passengers to take unlimited trips for the duration. The one-day pass was priced at Rs 200 and the three-day pass at Rs 400.

Both passes include a security deposit of Rs 50, which will be returned to the passenger when the smart card is given back at any of the customer centres at metro stations. However, the card must be in good working condition, according to BMRCL.

In addition to this, BMRCL will also refund unclaimed online smart card recharges and unclaimed online top-ups from April 2.

Commuters can get refunds on the recharge of smart cards if they are unable to update the balance amount on their smart cards within 15 days. The recharges done online through the website or the mobile apps can be updated by tapping at the Automatic Fare Collection (AFC) gates after one hour, and within seven days from the time of recharge. Updates can also be done at Card Top-up Terminals any time within 15 days from the time of recharge.

Namma Metro has recorded an average daily ridership of 2.97 lakh riders for the month of February 2022, far below the pre-COVID levels when officials counted 4.5 lakh riders every day.
