West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is likely to skip Prime Minister Narndra Modi's Covid-review meet to be held with all CMs of the country.
West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee is likely to skip Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Covid-review meet with chief ministers of all states and UTs. The virtual meeting is scheduled for today. Instead of Mamata, Bengal Chief Secretary will attend the meet instead. As per sources, the Bengal CM skipped the meeting as she is currently busy with poll campaigning in various districts of the state. The primary agenda of the virtual meeting between PM Modi and CMs will be the recent surge in Covid-19 cases in different parts of the country.
As per the Bill, those involved in unlawful conversions on the pretext of marriage will be punished with imprisonment of seven years and shall also be liable for a fine of Rs 1 lakh. Violations in respect of a minor, a person of unsound mind, a woman or a person belonging to the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe will be punished with imprisonment of seven years and a fine of Rs 5 lakh.
