
Bengal MP Sunil Mondal, who switched from TMC to BJP in 2020, wants to give up his Y+ security

The BJP MP, who had switched to the party from TMC in 2020, has sent a letter to the CRPF headquarters, seeking withdrawal of his security. He, in the letter, stated that he is "unable to maintain the expenditure" of his security.
Sunil Mondal, who won the East Burdwan seat on a Trinamool Congress (TMC) ticket in the 2019 Lok Sabha election but defected to the BJP in 2020, has sent a letter to the CRPF headquarters for the withdrawal of security he had requested for once. The Union Home Minister had approved Y+ security for East Burdwan MP Sunil Mondal in January this year.
A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.

According to the police, 19-year-old Sachin Dharmendrabhai Chaudhary, who works as a labourer, had borrowed the money before expressing his inability to repay it immediately, police said. He was allegedly threatened with his life over the delay in repayment. Fearing for his life, Sachin immediately alerted the police.
