A man was critically injured after a clash broke out between two groups in the main market behind Bathinda bus stand on Thursday evening.

The incident took place at around 10 pm, when, during an argument, two groups of people started pelting stones and thrashing each other with sticks.
During the scuffle, one of the men was thrashed brutally.
The shopkeepers rescued him and he was admitted to a government hospital for treatment where his condition is said to be critical.
The entire incident was recorded on CCTV. A case was registered and an investigation into this matter has been initiated.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He was allegedly threatened with his life over the delay in repayment. Fearing for his life, Sachin immediately alerted the police.
