Bappi Lahiri's son Bappa lands in Mumbai from the US to perform his father's last rites

Bappi Lahiri's son, Bappa Lahiri, returned to Mumbai from Los Angeles, the US to perform the last rites of his father. The iconic singer passed away on February 15.

The sudden demise of Bappa Lahiri left everyone in shock. The 69-year-old breathed his last on the night of February 15, at a Mumbai hospital. Bappi da will be cremated at Pawan Hans crematorium today, February 17, at 10 am. For the last rites, his son, Bappa Lahiri, returned to Mumbai on February 17. Bappa lives with his family in Los Angeles, US.

Veteran singer-composer of Hindi cinema Bappi Lahiri is no more in this world. He was 69 years old. The singer's health deteriorated and he was brought to the hospital in a critical state. He passed away at 11.45 pm on February 15. His cremation will be held today, February 17, at Pawan Hans Crematorium, Mumbai. As of now, Pandits, who will be assisting the family with last rites, have arrived at Bappi's residence in Juhu.

Bappi Lahiri's son, Bappa Lahiri, landed in Mumbai on February 17. He was spotted at Mumbai airport with his wife and son. A source close to IndiaToday.in, revealed the veteran singer’s funeral was being awaited for the return of his son Bappa.

“Legendary singer Bappi Lahiri's funeral was being awaited for the return of his son Bappa. Due to the same Bappi Da would be given a final farewell on Thursday. His last rites will be performed at Pawan Hans crematorium,” the insider told IndiaToday.in.

Bappi Lahiri was born as Alokesh Lahiri in West Bengal's Jalpaiguri. The singer and composer was the pioneer of disco beats in India and composed some very popular songs in Bengali, including Chirodini Tumi Je Aamar. Bappi Lahiri made his debut in Hindi films with Nanha Shikari in 1973.

He passed away on February 15. The singer had been unwell for a long time now. His family gave out an official statement and wrote, "It’s a deeply sad moment for us Our beloved Bappi Da has left for heavenly abode last midnight. The cremation will take on arrival of Bappa from LA tomorrow mid morning ,We are seeking love and blessings for his soul. We will keep you updated.
