
Bangladesh all set to welcome PM Modi for Golden Jubilee celebrations

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Dhaka on 26 March to attend the Golden Jubilee celebrations of Bangladesh's independence.
Bangladesh is all set to welcome Prime Minister Narendra Modi to take part in the Golden Jubilee celebrations of the country's independence and also the birth centenary of Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. This comes days after Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was conferred the Gandhi Peace Award 2020. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Bangladesh on March 26 and 27. This will be his first visit to a foreign country since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic. Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina will receive Modi at the Hazrat Shahjalal International airport. PM Modi will be the chief guest at the country's 50th Liberation Day celebrations at the National Parade Ground and Bangabandhu International Conference.
As per the Bill, those involved in unlawful conversions on the pretext of marriage will be punished with imprisonment of seven years and shall also be liable for a fine of Rs 1 lakh. Violations in respect of a minor, a person of unsound mind, a woman or a person belonging to the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe will be punished with imprisonment of seven years and a fine of Rs 5 lakh.

India on Monday said it has not held bilateral talks with the United States on deploying naval vessels to secure merchant shipping in the Strait of Hormuz. The clarification came after US President Donald Trump urged countries to send warships to keep the strategic waterway open amid tensions with Iran.
