Awareness is key to preventing cancer, says Bharath

Minister TG Bharath emphasizes cancer awareness and early detection during a World Cancer Day program in Kurnool.
Industries and Commerce Minister TG Bharath stated that awareness is key to preventing cancer, and detecting it at an early stage allows for easy treatment and recovery during a awareness programme for sanitation workers organised by the Bachu Janakiram Foundation on the occasion of World Cancer Day in Kurnool on Wednesday.
The programme was held to create awareness on the symptoms of cancer, importance of tests to identify the disease, and other aspects of cancer prevention. Meanwhile, cancer prevention vaccine was administered to children of sanitation workers between the nine to 14 age group.
Speaking at the awareness programme, Mr. Bharath advocated the need for creating awareness on life threatening diseases among the public. “One should not panic or delay treatment and undergoing of tests. Healthy lifestyle, balanced diet and exercise will reduce the chances of getting cancer,” he said. He said that both the government, as well as voluntary organisations, should create awareness among the people.
Kurnool Municipal Corporation (KMC) Commissioner P. Viswanatha acknowledged Bachu Janakiram Foundation’s gesture of providing ₹2,500 vaccines for free to the children of sanitation workers. He asserted that the corporation gave priority to the welfare and health of its workers.
