
Assam has many good hotels, says CM Himanta as Sena rebels hole up in Guwahati

Hours after several Shiv Sena leaders started putting up at a hotel in Guwahati, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has said there are many good hotels in the state and anyone can come and stay.
Two days after Shiv Sena rebel Eknath Shinde along with 30 other MLAs reached Guwahati and started putting up at a local hotel, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said there are many good hotels in the state and anyone can come and stay there.
“I don't know if Maharashtra MLAs are staying in Assam. MLAs of other states can also come and stay in Assam,” the CM said while addressing the media in Delhi.

Shiv Sena rebel Eknath Shinde and 26 other MLAs had gone incommunicado after the Maharashtra MLC results on Monday. They were camping at a luxury resort in BJP-ruled Gujarat’s Surat before flying to Guwahati.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.

He was allegedly threatened with his life over the delay in repayment. Fearing for his life, Sachin immediately alerted the police.
