A total of 269 stranded people have been rescued while 24 metric tonnes of food items have been transported to the worst-affected Dima Hasao district in the last two days with the help of the Indian Air Force. The state government has allotted additional Rs 2 crore each to Cachar and Dima Hasao district for releasing gratuitous relief to the affected people.

Unicef has deployed seven teams of technical specialists and consultants to support the disaster management authorities of Cachar, Hojai, Darrang, Biswanath, Nagaon, Morigaon and Dima Hasao to monitor flood relief operations. The Assam disaster management authority is also contemplating to augment disaster response forces from nearby states to further strengthen response if the situation becomes more critical.

A team of specialists from ISRO is doing rapid damage assessment in Dima Hasao using drones and satellite data to inform the post disaster need assessment. Steps for recuperating the broken communication systems are being taken to establish contact with remote areas in the hill district.
