Assam cabinet nod to Rs 2,500 crore relief package for microfinance borrowers, paper mills

The Assam Cabinet approved Rs 700 crore relief package for paper mills and Rs 1,800 crore for microfinance borrowers.

The Assam Cabinet on Thursday gave its nod to Rs 1,800 crore as the first installment to repay microfinance loans and Rs 700 crore relief package for employees of two defunct paper mills of PSU Hindustan Paper Corp (HPC).

This was the first time that the Assam cabinet held its meeting outside Guwahati. The meeting was held in Dhemaji under chairmanship of Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday.
