After his son demanded that he quit alcohol, a man in Karnataka climbed a tree as tall as 50 feet and threatened to take his own life by jumping.
Angry with his son for trying to make him quit alcohol, a man in Bengaluru climbed a tree and threatened to take his own life. The incident took place in the city's RR Nagar area on Tuesday. A resident of Shimoga, 50-year-old Joy Magtho was visiting his son in Bengaluru when he decided to take the drastic step. Joy's son works as a vegetable seller in Bengaluru. Locals said the son decided to put Magtho in a rehabilitation centre to rid him of his alcohol addiction. Once he came to know of his son's intentions, Joy Magtho climbed a tree as tall as 50 feet and threatened to jump.
A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.

He was allegedly threatened with his life over the delay in repayment. Fearing for his life, Sachin immediately alerted the police.
