
Asked not to repeat offence, Nawab Malik secures bail in second case filed by BJP leader

A court granted bail to Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader and Maharashtra minister Nawab Malik in a defamation complaint by BJP leader Mohit Bharatiya.
The Magistrate court in Mazagaon on Wednesday, granted bail to Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader and Maharashtra minister Nawab Malik in a defamation complaint by BJP leader Mohit Bharatiya. This is the second time that Malik had to attend court and seek bail.
Bharatiya alleged in his complaint that Malik had grossly misused his dominant position to defame him and his family with highly speculative arguments without any evidence to substantiate his alleged malicious claims.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.

According to the police, 19-year-old Sachin Dharmendrabhai Chaudhary, who works as a labourer, had borrowed the money before expressing his inability to repay it immediately, police said. He was allegedly threatened with his life over the delay in repayment. Fearing for his life, Sachin immediately alerted the police.
