Army recruitment scam: CBI books 17 Army personnel, conducts searches in 13 cities

The CBI on Monday conducted searches across 13 cities in connection with an Army recruitment scam, involving at least 17 Army personnel.

The CBI on Monday conducted searches at several Army establishments in connection with an alleged Army recruitment scam. Residential and official premises of a number of Defence officials, Army hospitals and cantonments were also searched. Officials said the search operation was extended to more than 30 places in 13 cities, including Kapurthala, Bathinda, Delhi, Kaithal, Palwal, Lucknow, Bareilly, Gorakhpur, Vishakhapatnam, Jaipur, Guwahati, Jorhat and Chirango. "The searches have led to the recovery of several incriminating documents. The documents so recovered during searches are being scrutinized," said CBI Spokesperson RC Joshi.
