Apple AirPods 2, AirPods 3, AirPods Pro, and AirPods Max are now eligible for a new software update and there is an easy way to download and install it on your unit.
Apple is now rolling out a software update for the AirPods lineup to bring some improvements, which, unfortunately, are not listed anywhere on the company website. The latest firmware update brings version 4C165 to all the latest AirPods models: AirPods 2, AirPods 3, AirPods Pro, and AirPods Max. The update comes three weeks after the previous one, but this time Apple has chosen not to share the release notes for the new firmware.
The truly wireless earbuds and the headphones in the AirPods lineup are, however, expected to perform better with the software update. But to find out what has specifically changed, users will need to install the update on their AirPods model and poke around to find out what is new and what is better with the new software. Right now, the software update is available only for AirPods earbuds and headphones. There is no information about Beats headphones and earphones receiving the new update.
