Anurag Thakur, GK Reddy slam KCR for seeking proof of surgical strike in 2016

Union Minister Anurag Thakur and BJP leader G Kishan Reddy slammed Telangana CM K Chandrashekar Rao for seeking proof of the surgical strike in 2016.

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao’s demand to see proof of the surgical strike on Pakistan in 2016 has sparked a political row.

Union Minister Anurag Thakur on Monday said that the Congress and the Telangana Rashtra Samithi were only echoing Pakistan.

K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) on Sunday hit out at the BJP, accusing the party of using references to religion and the Army to win state elections. KCR said that the Army, and not BJP, should be credited for carrying out surgical strikes in Pakistan in response to the Uri attack in 2016.

“The words of Congress and Telangana Rashtra Samithi sound similar to that of Pakistan. Whenever elections come, they do new experiments — be it hijab or the surgical strike — because they can't compete with BJP as far as development is concerned. Questioning surgical strike shows the mindset of KCR,” Anurag Thakur said.

“The Telangana CM is furious and nervous... If this is the condition after loss in one election, it clearly shows that KCR and TRS are sinking in Telangana,” he added.

G Kishan Reddy of the BJP, too, slammed KCR for his statement. “I strongly condemn the irresponsible statement of Telangana CM KCR, against the Indian armed forces. The fact that this came in on the eve of the anniversary of the Pulwama attack shows the insensitivity, irresponsibility, ignorance and that is unbecoming of a chief minister,” he said.
