
Another blow to Tejashwi Yadav? Newly elected MLC Ashok Yadav meets Bihar CM Nitish Kumar

Ashok Kumar, who took oath as a member of Bihar Legislative Council on Monday, met Chief Minister Nitish Kumar at his residence.
In what could be another blow to Leader of Opposition in Bihar Assembly Tejashwi Yadav, newly-elected independent MLC Ashok Yadav met Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Monday, April 11.
The development follows soon after reports that Ajit Singh, son of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) State President Jagdanand Singh, is set to join Janata Dal (United) on April 12.
Ashok Yadav is the nephew of former RJD strongman Raj Ballabh Yadav and RJD MLA Vibha Devi. Raj Ballabh Yadav is presently in jail on charges of raping a minor girl.
Ashok Yadav, who recently won the Bihar Legislative Council election from Nawada, met CM Nitish Kumar at the latter’s residence on Monday.

During the meeting with CM Nitish Kumar, Ashok Yadav apprised him of the problem of Nawada district and requested the Chief Minister to speed up the development of the district.
Following the meeting, Ashok Yadav said that CM Nitish Kumar patiently listened to all the demands, and expressed confidence in getting all the work done soon.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.

According to the police, 19-year-old Sachin Dharmendrabhai Chaudhary, who works as a labourer, had borrowed the money before expressing his inability to repay it immediately, police said. He was allegedly threatened with his life over the delay in repayment. Fearing for his life, Sachin immediately alerted the police.
