Director Deepak Sundarrajan's Annabelle Sethupathi is a fantasy horror comedy film starring Taapsee Pannu and Vijay Sethupathi. The film is a potpourri of boring horror films, says our review.
Horror films these days don't intend to do what they are supposed to do. You don't get scared watching the proceedings, instead, you start laughing at the clichés unfolding on the big screen. Seldom does a horror film spook you. Adding to the list of exhausting horror-comedy films is the latest entrant, Annabelle Sethupathi.
Rudra (Taapsee Pannu) is a modern-day petty thief, who aims to rob a palace, which was built by King Veera Sethupathi (Vijay Sethupathi) for his wife Annabelle (Taapsee Pannu). In the 1940s, Sethupathi and Annabelle lead a happy life. But, the couple gets poisoned to death. Cut to 2021, Rudra and her family arrive at the palace only to find that it is haunted.
