Ankita Bhandari murder: Resort's videography done, says U'khand top cop after family questions demolition

Uttarakhand top cop Shekhar Chandra Suyal said that the videography of the resort was done and evidence has been preserved. His response came after questions were raised over the demolition of the resort where the deceased Ankita Bhandari worked.
After the family of 19-year-old Ankita Bhandari raised questions over the demolition of the resort where their daughter worked, police said that the videography of the place was done on September 22. Police also said that the Special Investigation Team (SIT) and forensic teams also went to the resort and preserved the evidence.
Ankita's father questioned the Uttarakhand government over the demolition of the resort and asked, "Why was the resort razed when it had evidence?"
The resort, owned by prime accused Pulkit Arya, who also happens to be the son of former BJP leader Vinod Arya, is located in Yamkeshwar block of Pauri district. Pulkit Arya, manager Saurabh Bhaskar, and assistant manager Ankit Gupta were arrested after they confessed to having killed the missing girl and thrown her body into the Cheela Canal,Pauri Additional Superintendent of Police Shekhar Chandra Suyal told PTI.
Shekhar Chandra Suyal said, "Reports have surfaced on many media portals that the evidence has been erased. I want to state that we ourselves went to the resort on Sept 22 where we did videography and the next morning, the forensic team investigated and preserved the evidence."
An SIT team along with a forensic team reached the resort in Uttarkhand to probe the alleged murder of 19-year-old Ankita Bhandari.

After the massive protests and outrage, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Dhami had ordered the demolition of the resort on Friday night. The demolition of the resort was carried out by the civic body authorities in the presence of policemen. Even the locals had set the resort on fire after it was demolished.
