
Andhra YSRCP leader killed; 3 cops hurt while trying to rescue MLA attacked by villagers for being involved

A local Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSCRP) leader was brutally murdered in Andhra Pradesh’s Kotapalli village. Villagers reportedly attacked Local YSRC MLA Talari Venkata Rao for being involved in the murder.
Tension prevailed in G Kothapalli village of Dwaraka Tirumala Mandal in Andhra Pradesh after a local YSRCP leader was brutally hacked to death. After the killing, MLA Talari Venkata Rao was reportedly attacked by villagers for being involved in the murder.
There has reportedly been rivalry between groups of the ruling party, and the group supported by the MLA murdered the village unit president.
At least three policemen were also injured in the scuffle while trying to rescue the MLA. More forces were rushed to the village to prevent the situation from escalating.
The MLA is still trapped, sheltered in a school, with a few policemen securing him. Superintendent of Police, Rahul Dev Sharma and Deputy Inspector General, Palaraju, rushed to the location as the situation was tense.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.

According to the police, 19-year-old Sachin Dharmendrabhai Chaudhary, who works as a labourer, had borrowed the money before expressing his inability to repay it immediately, police said. He was allegedly threatened with his life over the delay in repayment. Fearing for his life, Sachin immediately alerted the police.
