
Andhra Pradesh govt reimburses Rs 666.84 crore to Agri Gold ponzi scheme victims

The Andhra Pradesh government on Tuesday credited Rs 666.84 crore to the accounts of over seven lakh victims of the Agri Gold ponzi scheme. This was one of the major poll promises of CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy in the 2019 state polls.
Delivering on its poll promise, the YS Jagan Mohan Reddy-led Andhra Pradesh government on Tuesday credited Rs 666.84 crore to the accounts of over seven lakh people who deposited up to Rs 20,000 into the Agri Gold ponzi scheme. The state government's financial reimbursement is inclusive of Rs 207.6 crores to 3.86 lakh victims who had deposited amounts less than Rs 10,000, and Rs 459.23 crores to 3.14 lakh victims who had deposited amounts ranging between Rs 10,000 to Rs 20,000.
Amid preparations for an engagement and haldi ceremony in Maharashtra's Dhule district, an argument broke out between two groups over the printing of names on a wedding invitation card, during which three people were attacked with sharp weapons and killed. Three others were injured and are undergoing treatment.
