Andhra Pradesh government declares Ratha Saptami as State festival at Sri Suryanarayana Swamy temple, self-sufficient with ₹11.26 crore income.
The Andhra Pradesh government has declared the Ratha Saptami as a State festival for three days at the Sri Suryanarayana Swamy temple at Arasavalli in Srikakulam district.
The decision follows a proposal from the Endowments Commissioner, highlighting the temple’s annual income of ₹11.26 crore and its popularity among devotees from Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, and Telangana.
S. Satyanarayana, Secretary, Endowments Department issued the G.O. M.S. No. 291 in this regard on Thursday.
Ratha Saptami will be celebrated on February 4, 2025. The temple’s substantial income ensures the festival’s self-sufficiency without government financial aid.
