Amit Sadh says Hindi vs South debate won't solve anything. Says it will make people 'shallow'

In an exclusive interview with IndiaToday.in, Amit Sadh opened up about the Hindi vs South debate. The actor mentioned that the debate won't solve anything.

Kannada actor Kiccha Sudeep sparked a debate on social media after saying that 'Hindi is no longer our national language'. Ajay Devgn was among the first ones to react to his statement. Ever since, several celebrities have come out and shared their views on the debate. In an exclusive interview with IndiaToday.in, Bollywood actor Amit Sadh shared his take on this debate. The actor strongly put forth his opinion on this topic.

Amit Sadh mentioned that he can speak Hindi because his upbringing was between Hindi and English. Being at his candid best, Amit Sadh told us, "Mujhe lagta hain iss samay India mein sab apna wajood dhundh rahe hain aur wajood dhudhne ki zaroorat hain nahi. Kyunki wajood hota hain, dhundha nahi jaata. This is what I believe. I think India is blessed with so many languages. I speak Hindi because my upbringing was between Hindi and English. And I did not get an opportunity to learn other Indian languages. I don't want to be a part of any argument or debate."

The actor further added, "Abhi bhi bohot bhukhmari hain, Covid-19 pandemic ke baad abhi bhi log hai jinko jobs nahi mil rahi aur time pe salaries bhi nahi mil pa rahi, agar uski koi debate ho toh mujhe bula lena. Because uski debate se kuch fayda niklega. There will be a resolution and solution and something will get better. (Even now, people are hungry. After the pandemic, there are still people who have no jobs and some people aren't even getting salaries on time.)

Amit went on to add that the whole Hindi vs South debate doesn't solve anything. "At this point in time in India, the way we are growing and the way the world is looking at us, we are a great nation with so much diversity. And all of a sudden, I don't know why we want to question our diversity and make us shallow and narrow. That debate doesn't solve anything. I want to be a part of the debates that uplift our nation and the hard-working people of this country," said Amit.
