NDA government promises world-class Amaravati, Pawan Kalyan criticizes YSRCP, Modi attends relaunch, Lokesh praises PM Modi.
Stating that the NDA government would develop Amaravati as a world-class capital city, Deputy Chief Minister and JSP president Pawan Kalyan said farmers did not give just land but an opportunity to shape the future of the State.
Addressing a huge gathering at the Amaravati capital city works relaunch programme attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday, Mr. Pawan Kalyan said the previous YSRCP government insulted the sacrifices of farmers. “With the three-capital proposal, the previous government watered down the aspirations of people. The State lost significantly due to the previous government’s decisions. We assured the farmers that Amaravati would remain as the capital for Andhra Pradesh forever. They made sacrifices and fought against the YSRCP government for five years. Now, the Amaravati works have again started in a grand manner under the visionary leadership of Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu, who built the Cyberabad city in hills. The present governments at the Centre and in the State are working together to rebuild the capital,” he said.
In an interesting development, Mr. Modi invited Pawan Kalyan and handed him something (which was not disclosed), after the Deputy Chief Minister concluded his address to the public, which brought a smile on the faces of the leaders.
Meanwhile, Minister for Human Resources Development Nara Lokesh paid tributes to the people who lost their lives in the Pahalgam terrorist attack. Mr. Lokesh praised Prime Minister as the architect of modern Bharat.’‘The entire nation stands with NaMo in the action against terror,’‘ he said.
Mr. Lokesh accused the former YSRCP government of trying to kill Capital Amaravati. ‘‘We have seen destructive rule for the last five years but are now witnessing development and welfare in a balanced manner,” he said.
Bhupathiraju Srinivasa Varma, Minister of State for Steel and Heavy Industries, observed that the Central government had been extending financial support to the State government for various development projects.
