Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor are getting married on either April 14 or 15 and fans are elated! Their pre-wedding festivities started today. While the afternoon of April 13 was reserved for their mehendi ceremony, tonight will mark their sangeet ceremony. Now that their mehendi ceremony is over, IndiaToday.in brings exclusive deets on what happened inside Alia and Ranbir's first pre-wedding event.

Earlier today, we saw many who’s who from the world of B-Town (read Kapoor and Bhatt khandaan), arrive at Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt’s Vastu apartment in Mumbai. IndiaToday.in has exclusively learnt inside scoops from Alia and Ranbir’s mehendi ceremony. Alia’s mehendi design has a number 8 connect (Ranbir’s lucky number). The mehendi that was used, was organic. A source shared that Alia was heard telling one of the mehendi designers if they could make an infinity design based on the number 8 and horizontally incorporate it somewhere on her palms.

Ranbir’s cousins Kareena Kapoor Khan and Karisma Kapoor looked gorgeous in ivory and mustard ensembles as their arrived for the pre-wedding event. The Kapoor sisters sat next to bride-to-be Alia during the mehendi ceremony. Traditional Punjabi songs were being played with a mix of Bollywood tunes like Kabira in the background.

A source from Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor's mehendi ceremony further revealed that there were dholak and folk singers at the mehendi. The mehendi ceremony started after the Ganesh puja. Only family members attended the mehendi apart from Karan Johar, Ayan Mukerji, and Aarti Shetty. The mehendi rituals had a specific decor of red flowers with yellow/marigold-themed drapery. Guests were also offered Ganesh puja prasad before the mehendi began. Karan Johar was spotted playing the perfect host while Ayan Mukerji sat next to Alia.

Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor’s pre-wedding festivities have already started. IndiaToday.in has exclusively learnt that a Ganesh puja was held in the morning, followed by mehendi in the noon. Their sangeet ceremony is slated for later in the evening, which might start from 10-10.30 pm. Later, the Bhatt and Kapoor families will huddle up for a joint family dinner with the soon-to-weds.
