Will the OG cast of Bhool Bhulaiyaa, including Akshay Kumar and Vidya Balan be a part of the second instalment? Anees Bazmee spills the beans at the trailer launch.

Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani-starrer Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2's trailer has been released today, April 26. Fans are super excited to see the second instalment of the Anees Bazmee directorial. The original Hindi version featured Akshay Kumar and Vidya Balan in lead roles and was a huge hit. So, will the original duo, Akshay and Vidya be a part of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2?

At the trailer launch of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, Anees Bazmee revealed that, unfortunately, the stars are not a part of the film. Both Akshay and Vidya, according to the director, could not fit into the script. He said, "Akshay ji jo hain wo great actor hain...dosti bhi achi hai humari...kash aisa hota ki iss film mein inko thoda bohot le k aa paate, toh naturally bohot fayda hota. Lekin script ne woh mauka hi nahi diya...jaha tak aisa lagta hain ki sath kaam karte toh bohot khushi ki baat hoti. But, ye film ke andar humne bohot alag kisam ka script pe kaam kiya hain...Rajpal ke alava sare log bilkul ek fresh approach liya hain (Akshay Kumar is a great actor and we are good friends, but he and Vidya did not fit in the script. It would have been profitable to work with them, but we have taken a different approach to the script. Everyone's character is fresh except Rajpal Yadav.)"

The 3-minute-12-second trailer shows an old bungalow and begins with the story of Manjulika. Kartik makes a heroic entry and declares that he can see ghosts. The trailer then introduces Kiara's character, Reet. Rajpal Yadav can be seen stepping back into the role of a pandit. What follows is utter confusion wrapped in humour and, of course, horror!

The trailer looks super fun and we cannot wait to discover who Manjulika is!

The film will be released in cinemas on May 20, 2022.
