
Airtel service deactivation message was a technical glitch, company clarifies

Airtel has issued a clarification on the recent service deactivation message received by some of its users. The company clears that the messages were sent only to some users in a specific locality.
Airtel sent out SMS messages to some of its users on Friday, wrongly informing them of discontinuation of their outgoing calls. The messages asked the users to recharge their Airtel accounts in order to continue the outgoing services. The company has now issued a clarification that the messages were sent due to a technical error and that users need not pay heed to them. Airtel further apologised for any inconvenience caused by the glitch.
