As Russia intensified attacks in Ukraine, an American home rental company, Airbnb, suspended all operations in Russia and Belarus on Thursday, March 4. "Home rental company, Airbnb Inc is suspending all operations in Russia and Belarus", Chief Executive Officer Brian Chesky said in a tweet.

The United States, European Union and United Kingdom and several other countries have imposed sanctions on the Russian financial sector, including a block on its access to the global financial system and, for the first time, restrictions on its central bank in retaliation for its invasion of Ukraine.
