A married couple travelling on a bike on Monday evening in Agra was stopped by three men who beat the two and gang-raped the woman in front of her husband. The perpetrators made a video of the incident and also robbed the couple.
A married couple was travelling on a bike in Agra on Monday evening when three young men allegedly blocked their way, beat them and gang-raped the woman in front of her husband. The perpetrators made a video of the incident and looted the couple before escaping, according to the couple's account. The woman has filed a police complaint and recorded her statement at Agra's Etmaddulah police station. The police have filed a case based on her statement and a team has been formed to search for the accused, according to Superintendent of Police Satyajit Gupta. As per the Bill, those involved in unlawful conversions on the pretext of marriage will be punished with imprisonment of seven years and shall also be liable for a fine of Rs 1 lakh. Violations in respect of a minor, a person of unsound mind, a woman or a person belonging to the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe will be punished with imprisonment of seven years and a fine of Rs 5 lakh.
