Two men reportedly thrashed a 30-year-old man in Agra in broad daylight. The victim died while undergoing treatment at a hospital.
A 30-year-old man was reportedly thrashed by two men with sticks in Uttar Pradesh's Agra in broad daylight on Saturday. The victim succumbed to his injuries today and police have launched an investigation.
The incident was reported from Thana Sadar area when two men reportedly attacked Prashant Saxena with sticks, leaving him severely injured. According to a report published in the Hindi Daily Bhaskar, the accused brutally beat the man and fled from the spot.
The accused have been identified as Honey and Bhawani Singh. As per the reports, Prashant, a resident of Ram Vihar colony under Thana Sadar police station limits, was attacked by two men.
The accused thrashed the victim in the market area and fled from the spot thinking that the latter was dead. However, locals caught hold of one of the accused, Honey, but the other one escaped.
A video shows that locals and nearby people caught hold of one of the accused and informed the police about the same.
Police reached the spot and immediately rushed Prashant to a nearby hospital. However, his health condition worsened and he was referred to a hospital in Noida but could not survive.
According to the police, the incident happened two days back and they have arrested Honey. They have filed a case under section (307) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Police have launched a probe to ascertain the motive behind the crime.
